Register Now for Reston’s Turkey Day 5K
The Thanksgiving stereotype includes overeating and then lying down on the couch to recover from the meal. But what if you could spend the day feeling fit and energetic instead? That's precisely the opportunity offered by the Turkey Day 5K. This November 28 you can start your Thanksgiving with a brisk jog (or sprint!) through scenic Reston, starting and finishing at South Lakes High School. Want to get the whole family involved? There's also a 1-mile Fun Run for folks who want to get their blood flowing without the competitive aspects of the 5K race, and there's even a Tot Trot to involve the little ones. After the race you’ll be able to relax and have fun at the race festival, which features music, games, and more.
The Turkey Day 5K organizers are also collecting used coats for One Warm Coat, a local non-profit, so be sure to look through your closets for outgrown or unworn coats to donate.
